A 17th-century text attributed to Varadarāja, a disciple of Bhaṭṭoji Dīkṣita, this work is an introductory treatise on Pāṇini’s Aṣṭādhyāyī intended for beginners. It presents only the most essential sūtras and grammatical rules, avoiding technical complexity while clearly explaining fundamental topics such as sandhi, subanta, and tiṅanta formations. An abridged version of the Siddhānta-Kaumudī, it is widely used in traditional pāṭhaśālās as well as in modern academic study of Pāṇinian grammar. This text is published by Gita Press, Gorakhpur.
